Privacy Policy

Datenschutzerklärung · per GDPR Art. 13 & Austrian DSG

This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what rights you have. I take your privacy seriously and only process data where there is a clear reason to.

Who is responsible (controller)

Botond Kis
Capistrangasse 4, 1060 Vienna, Austria
Email: contact@botikis.com

Full contact details are in the Impressum.

No cookies, no tracking

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking. Fonts are self-hosted, so no data is sent to font CDNs. There is therefore no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to.

Server logs (hosting)

The site is hosted by World4You Internet Services GmbH (Wolfgang-Pauli-Straße 2, BT3, 4020 Linz, Austria), a processor acting on my behalf within the EU. Like any web server, the host automatically records technical access data in server log files:

  • your IP address
  • date and time of the request
  • the page or file requested
  • browser type and version, and operating system
  • the referring page, where sent

This data is needed to deliver the site, keep it secure, and diagnose faults. Legal basis: legitimate interest in a stable, secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Logs are kept only as long as needed for these purposes and then deleted.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, I process the name, email address, and message you enter, so I can read and reply to your enquiry.

Legal basis: your consent in sending the message and my legitimate interest in responding (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and (f)). Providing this data is voluntary, but without it I cannot reply. Your message is kept as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any follow-up, then deleted.

Form delivery and transfer outside the EU

Form submissions are delivered through Web3Forms (web3forms.com), a form-to-email service that forwards your message to my inbox. The submission is transmitted to Web3Forms' servers, which may be located outside the EU/EEA, including the United States, so your form data may be transferred to a third country. This is limited to the name, email, and message you submit, and is done only to deliver your enquiry. For how Web3Forms handles the data, see the Web3Forms privacy policy. If you would rather not use a US-based service, you can email me directly at the address above instead. A spam-protection honeypot field is used; no tracking is involved.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data I hold about you (Art. 15)
  • have it corrected (Art. 16) or erased (Art. 17)
  • restrict or object to its processing (Art. 18, 21)
  • data portability (Art. 20)
  • withdraw consent at any time, with no effect on prior processing

To exercise any of these, email me at the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian supervisory authority, the Datenschutzbehörde (dsb.gv.at), if you believe your data is being handled unlawfully.
